“We are excited to raise awareness of voter registration once again during the month of May, says Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan. “Saskatchewan residents will see some social media advertising that promotes the important of voter registration and its essential contribution to the conduct of trusted electoral events and a healthy democracy.”
“There are benefits to being on the registered voters list ahead of an election. Come event time, each registered voter will receive a personalized voter information card. This card details where and when to vote. Being on the voters list prior before an election is underway makes the voting process easier and faster at your voting place.”
Throughout May:
Voters not on the list can still vote in-person in an election, but they first must register at the voting place, which adds time to their voting experience.
According to The Legislative Assembly Act, 2007, provincial elections occur every four years on the last Monday in October, unless delayed by a federal election call. Saskatchewan’s 31st General Election is scheduled for October 30, 2028.
