January 27, 2026 – Elections Saskatchewan has released a new strategic plan that will guide the institution through the province’s next general election, scheduled for October 2028.

The plan, Trusted Elections. Trusted Democracy. Achieving Electoral Integrity and Access through Innovation, sets out Elections Saskatchewan’s roadmap from 2026-2029, and stakeholder trust and confidence stands as its central priority.

“Democracy is built on trust,” says Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan. “Our team at Elections Saskatchewan is committed to serving the province by doing everything in our power to sustain and renew the people’s trust in our democratic processes.”

“This new strategic plan offers a framework to put our foundational statements—our vision, our mission, our values, and our strategic imperative focusing on trust—into action,” say Dr. Boda. “It describes how Elections Saskatchewan intends to fulfill its mandate as an independent, impartial, election management body in the years ahead. “

Annual updates on Elections Saskatchewan’s progress will be offered in annual reports, beginning in early summer 2026.
